PENCIL PORTRAITS .

Pencil and detailed portraits are what I’m most known for , particularly those of commissioned family members, friends and celebrities.

They also happen to be what i always have most enjoyed drawing , by the end of completing a portrait be it of a person or animal I feel as though I know the subjects and always try my best to make sure I capture personalities, character and emotion in my work.

Particularly through expression and recognised characteristics, such as James hunts cheeky grin, the scars of lauda’s accident and the glint in his eye.

It is really important to me to spend time on these fine details as portraits are often commissioned to reminisce, remember and celebrate the subjects,

For this reason they often are my most time consuming pieces , and with each one I learn and get better and enjoy the opportunities to document people of all ages , this is often evidenced and rewarding to look back on.

If commissioned I like to include clients in their outcome and document the process through Timelapse and photos.

If you’d like to learn more about the methods and processes I use in creating portraits view my blog where I frequently post recent work .
