PAINT
I am currently studying painting having mainly focused on pencil throughout my life and career.
I first started with acrylic and have produced the outcomes below as practice pieces.
Starting with very simple colour ways and subjects in order to better understand how the paint feels and responds as well as learning techniques.
I’d like to learn how to paint with oils and am currently spending any free time learning this.
Paint can be a much faster medium than pencil and something I’d like to offer in the future
Prints and original paintings from the At the races series will be available to purchase!
If you’d like a commission done in this style, get in touch!
Megan Fox
This portrait of Megan was the first I’d ever painted in acrylic and in this style,I liked the idea of painting it in the colours they race in.
Using the black for the shadows and a bright red for the mid tones to make it pop, I decided to leave the highlights white for a high contrast finish.
Rachael Blackmore
Rachael had just won the national and having primarily documented men in motorsport, I thought I’d continue to practice paint by portraying another successful woman in Racing.
